BOMBAY IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF TERRORISTS CELLS ARE NOT TIMELY DETECTED, AVOINDING ITS ORGANIZATION AND REARMING
The world has left amazed with the terrorists attacks to the India´s economic capital. All countries have condemned these terrorist acts. The question is Why the intelligence services of the world powers countries which supossly are in a war against the islamic terrorism, did not detect it and did not prevent what could happen?
Curiously, these attacks ocurred when an approach between the US and India is happening and while the relations between the US and Pakistan are getting colder.
Since 1947 when India and Pakistan got its independences and its frontiers were drawn, a dispute for the Cachmire has existed. This conflict has lead to two wars. In 1971, the region was divided by a “Line of Control” which did not decrease the conflict until today.
In many opportunities New Delhi demanded that Islamabad were helping many islamic rebels groups which since 1989 are fighting for Cachmire´s independence from India and its union to Pakistan.
The US government declare: “We are closely tracking the situation and we are ready to support the Indian government while it is facing these horrible attacks” It seems that the 9/11 terrorists attacks did not provide enough experience to intelligence services. How it is possible that the US, UK and Israel intelligence services could not be able to detect the terrorists cells intentions? Did they kown anything?
The violent islamic global extremism ideology, represented by groups like Al Qaeda and others, totally reject the basic principles of modern policy, because they are focused to finishing with the States, erasing the national frontiers and restoring the imperial structure of the old califate, therefore they are a menace for all the States of the world and its is possible to beat them anywhere. So is it possible to be away of its control at a world level?
This is much more than a simple armed conflict: It is a conflict of ideas. The theory of victory of Al Qaeda and others islamic terrorist groups is based on capture the muslim societies legitim national and domestic unsatisfactions inserting it in an ideological narrative of a never-ending fight against western oppresion, especially the US, Europe and Israel. The untolerant ideology of these groups only could be imposed through brutality and violence as we have observed in Bombay.
In a mean while confusion about the authors of these terrorists attacks is increasing. According to different sources of information, three terrorists captured during the night operations deployed in the Hotel Taj would have said to be part of Lash-e-Taiba islamic group (Army of the Pure) based in Pakistan. As a matter of fact at least one of the arrested would be of this nationality.
This extreme, still to be confirmed, would give the reason to the Idian goverment which always has been pointed the terrorists who are arrived from outside the country as the responsibles for the attacks. Particularly pakistans, as the Indian foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee has said. The government of Islamabad has warned New Delhi that do not find guiltiest so fast.
Memebers of the Indian government insist in the existence of a possible Pakistan intervention. This has been strongly denied by Islamabad. If the Indian theory were proved the peace in the region is under risk, because for less both States had already declared the war each other. The problem today is bigger because the nuclear power is present.
What has to call us to think is that all this situation happens precisely when the world is living a deep financial crisis, when the first world power is economically weak, militarly facing two simultanious wars and when the US is changing president.
The world today is drifting away, the international organization have demonstrated its inefficiency, there are groups that are able to do anything in terms to impose its ideas, goverments are finding solutions to its problems related to the financial crisis. China has its own internal problems before start thinking in a world leadership. It is a new situation full of conflicts and domestic wars around the Russian frontiers, but also of capital markets, international travels and internet. Russia is concerned trying to occupy the spaces that US is leaving in Latin america.
What to expect? Who are behind all this? Who is wining with destabilizes important areas of the world? If the intention is avoid the dead of innocents in the world as we have observed in India, intelligence services can not fall asleep
It is expected that the world reacts for peace and concorde. The way must be offer to the people a democratic way to promote its interests peacefully, to develop its talents, to correct unfairnesses and to live freely and dignity. In this sense, the fight against terrorism is a kind of global counterinsurgency: the center of gravity are not the enemies whom we are fighting with, but the societies they are trying to radicalize.
